A much-necessary introduction!
People of Earth, I am B\'Frîs! An alien being that takes shape on this planet only to post on this blog and answer the many questions that its inhabitants have for me. I mean you no harm, I am an Observer and a Teacher, a Helper!
Send me your questions about the Universe, Live and Everything and I will answer to the best of my knowledge (which is, believe me, very extensive): bfris.earth@gmail.com

This isn’t really a question that someone asked me, but it is related to my previous post – how many civilizations are out there – and it is in fact something that is important to have explained and understood. Let’s say I’m asking and answering the question all at once and leave it at that.
According to your scientific theories (at least, one of them) the universe originated from a central point and expanded from this point, rapidly at first and gradually slower as time passed. Most people also believe that the universe is infinite and has no stopping point. While the latter theory is true, the former isn’t – not quite. You see, your universe is only part of the picture – on top of it; you also have what I best can translate as “totality”. The Totality is the combination of all the universes in it, where each universe is unique. If that does not give you a headache, continue reading and you might get one.
Your universe is more or less in the shape of a doughnut – roundish with a ring of billions of galaxies around the center which is basically a black hole of a size that is exponentially larger than what you can see with your telescopes. However, at this size the black hole not only sucks matter and energy in – it will actually reject it from the other side, recycled into basic matter with no shape. Matter then starts coalescing as it goes around the radius of the doughnut and eventually back up on “top” and into the black hole where the cycle starts anew. So in reality your “big bang” theory is somewhat right in essence, but wrong about timing – there is a permanent big bang process that is happening and will continue happening for eternity.
What does this mean for you? First, it means that you have a lot more time, as a race, than you originally thought – as long as you find your way to the stars and not only escape your solar system but also your galaxy. When you have found your bearing in the Universe, you will be able to travel “back” towards the bottom of the doughnut and re-establish yourself. In billions of years, you will thus either be extinct, or have become a nomad race that never stays in the same place for more than a few billion years – quite acceptable if you ask me.
The shape of your universe also has one effect: it is the reason why your physics are based on positive-negative values (0 and 1). While the black hole at the center of your universe has a positive (creation) side and a negative (destruction) side, you can only comprehend those two values and everything around you is based on it. In other universes, different “shapes” will create different physics, with for example 4 “poles” and 4 values – Negative, Positive and two others that even I cannot define in words. I am, after all, originally from this universe and have not reached the point where I can reach others.
So you can now say that you are not only resident of Earth from the Solar System in the Milky Way galaxy, you are also in the Doughnut universe (we refer to it as “ours”, there are no identifiers of universes as far as I know) of Totality. My own knowledge stops here, for all I know – for all we know as a Totality – there is something more out there that we have yet to see and comprehend.

According to your current view and definition of the universe, the number of different unique species is well over the million. However if you would only know the true scope of the universe… Well it’s truly infinite, with all that implies. This is as good a time as any to explain how the real universe works, so let me do this in another post (as it’s not really an answer to your question now, is it?)

Question by: Melanie in Montreal, Canada.
Melanie is a teacher.
Also related to a question by Curtis in Montreal, Canada: What would it take to be immortal.
Curtis is a Network Administrator.
I am happy to know that so many people of Earth would be very happy to live without the shackles of currency and trades, even while not knowing how to do so. The answer to your question is actually pretty simple, but the implementation of this answer is not attainable with your current level of technology; even that will be true only for a limited amount of time if I am to believe the advances made regularly by your scientists.
Now, in order for people to have the ability to live without a need for money, you have to be able to provide for the greatest majority of the population without their actions. Food and lodging must be given freely, and forms of entertainment must be plentiful – as people soon realize that they have a lot of time on their hands when they do not need to work. The most popular ways that civilizations have achieved this across the universe are either artificial intelligence, matter reconstitution and virtual reality.
Artificial Intelligence in itself can have many forms but in most cases it takes the shape of robots being controlled with an individual or collective A.I. which is programmed to fill the desires of humanity with the best of its ability. A.I.s will most often start off replacing the more repetitive, menial tasks such as manufacturing, but soon expand to new areas such as transportation, customer service, the food industry. Some civilizations have even trusted computer intelligences to control the government and to best decide policies while some others wish to keep control over these areas. An extremely small percentage of A.I.s will rebel against their creators but in all cases a consensus was reached and co-existence was achieved without bloodshed. Unfortunately, some species have now become decayed brainless slobs, served upon by robots that can not oppose them and losing their creativity and free mind – a small possibility but still one nonetheless. Others have learned to slowly dim the line between man and machine, to not only coexist but to form a symbiosis between themselves and eventually become one – a race of biomechanical hybrids that live their immortality in the physical plane of existence.
Matter reconstruction, what Gene Roddenberry called replicators, is a reality for some civilizations. There are initial hurdles to overcome with this technology just like the others, such as individuals wanting to create tons of now-useless precious metals and stones. This causes an initial crash of the trade markets of some planet where the technology is created but, once everyone realizes that the money simply loses its value, a natural balance automatically takes place and people start seeing the benefits of turning sand into drinkable water, stone into food and Co2 into oxygen. Replicator civilizations will tend to prosper somewhat more easily than the others as they will be rich with what the people need the most – yet still some will simply continue polluting and trashing their planet, having learnt nothing on how to take care of it and simply relying on their ability to turn trash into food and gold when necessary. On the other hand, there are those who realize that not only can they transform matter, they can also use the same technology to rejuvenate their own cells and become immortal through it – sometimes even enhancing themselves.
Finally, there is Virtual Reality. This is the path that my own race took so many millions of years ago so I speak of it knowingly – and we aren’t the only ones. It starts off with virtual reality that can be accessed by a select few – those with the strongest fantasies that want to be fulfilled. Soon there are those individuals that simply live off of it, their bodies dwindling while their mind thrives inside the computer world. Eventually someone finds a way to completely transfer the mind and forego the body entirely and a mass exodus shifts the population into a world where all their wants are filled. Some species have completely disappeared this way, their whole civilization entering this fake world and their technology failing and extinguishing them in an instant. Others like ourselves have found ways to maintain themselves until eventually even the machines were no longer necessary and the pure energy of their beings could escape the shackles of the physical life and travel the universe, timeless like myself. We would surely fade away with entropy if… Well that’s a story for another day.
Of course, these three possibilities are not the only ones. There are countless other ways that could lead to a planet without money and greed, but this is already turning into a very long post and I must return to my observation of the planet. As you can see there is hope for you yet, with hurdles that can be overcome if only you can all work together. In the end, money can only bring you so far and eventually, it becomes a thing of the past, an era and a fad that will be reflected upon by historians of your future.

Question by: Valerie, in Montreal, Canada
Valerie work in the customer service and sales industry.
Well I’m here and responding to you aren’t I? Then the question becomes “Why did it take so long for an alien entity to discover our presence”. The answer is ultimately the same but I had to clarify that.
What has to be kept in mind is the sheer volume of the universe – even within your current definition of the word and the limit at which you can actually grasp the concept. It’s one thing to be shooting off radio and television waves outwards from your planet; quite another for an alien entity to capture them like I did. Of course, the first radio signals to be sent in 1895 are already over 100 light-years away which means the chance of your presence being discovered had been growing exponentially every moment; it would have been sooner had anyone in your vicinity been actually listening. You could compare your situation with a mutant crab capable of emitting bubbles in a way capable of being understood by humans on earth, but the odds against a boat seeing the bubbles on the surface and actually investigating are staggeringly small.
In short, I was in the neighbourhood, I was listening and the odds were in your favour this time. Now that your presence has been noted I am here to investigate your species and try to help you evolve to the point where you will be ready for the rest of us; until that time there should be no impromptue visits – good or bad.

Asked by: Frederique in Montreal, Canada.
Frederique is an Environmental Microbiologist.
I was intrigued that one of the first questions I received was whether or not Earth was the most violent place in the Universe. This supposes first of all that the person who sent this in assumes that Earth would be regarded as violent by anyone else but its inhabitants. It also supposes that the question relates to the present – whether Earth is the most violent place currently in this universe.
Violence, just like beauty and art, is all about points of views. Just look around your own planet and you will find plenty of difference in opinion on whether someone is violent, evil, crazy, etc. One blatant example is religion, where each fundamentalist/extremist of his or her faith is convinced that their Word is the right one, that all others are infidels and anyone who believes in another god than theirs should be dispatched and burned on the stake. Across the ocean, people of a different faith think exactly the same thing, with religions reversed of course.
With all the wars, crime, corruption and hatred on Earth, you would think that you’re pretty violent – and you would be true if we would only limit our search to a small area, say this galaxy. But the universe is large and not every civilization has learned to correct their ways and to coexist peacefully with themselves, never mind the rest of the universe. One such specie, currently limited to their own solar system, has made a game of its wars, keeping a tally of the deaths on both sides and greatly celebrating when their own clique has the most points. That species however does possess the otherwise beautiful gift of reincarnation, but this only makes the gift meaningless – just like the suffering.
And of course, looking back at the past I could name hundreds of other species that have committed atrocities that would make Hitler and Stalin seem like choir boys in comparison, but that would be besides the point. What is important to realize for Humanity in general as well as each individual person is that the time has come to go beyond the the violence and the rage. Earth is at a turning point and everyday more people are coming to the realization that there has to be a point for you being here – a justification for life, a Meaning.
Too bad there isn’t really one. Life appears and evolves all over the universe and no one is deciding who does what and for what reason. Each decides of their own “fate” and the sooner a species realizes that there is no predefined purpose in life, the faster they will evolve forward! And yes, this includes the human race on Earth. Let’s hope this blog will help in the consciousness raising! I’ve seen it happen…
Filed under About B'Frîs by B'Frîs On Earth on 17-09-2009
Hello there! My name is… well actually, I don’t really have a name. I am known within my race, if you may call it that, more by a concept of my existence than by a name. You could say that my name is the sum of my being, which would take much more space than the server this blog is on to store.
So how would you call me? B’Frîs. Weird, I know – I could have tagged myself as Bob, John or, for all you know, Veronica. But I do have a reason for this name, and it will be your first challenge to study my writing and to discover it. Don’t expect this will happen soon, unless you can read minds (which according to my research is not within your grasp).
So who am I and what is this blog? Well, it’s quite simple really. I’ve appointed myself to study this planet, as it is one of the rare ones where life is still based on corporeal bodies, where civilization is still at it’s – comparatively – early stages. You see, I am a being made completely out of energy, timeless and without substance… Unless I so desire. Though you may be tempted to call me a god, don’t – I am no more capable of controlling your lives than I am of passing through your sun unscathed.
On the other hand, my own substance or lack thereof is completely under my control, and I have the ability to take physical shape as I do regularly to post on this blog. I don’t really need to – my energy can easily emulate the information transferred on the global network you call the Internet – but I do like to take real shape and interact with masses as as solid objects as you do: impenetrable, not merely ethereal.
“But B’Frîs”, you may ask, “what is your goal with this blog and your presence here?”. A valid question which I will answer in due time. Know for the moment that I am an Observer and came here, as I wrote earlier, only to see, hear, and touch your world. My goal is not of conquering or even changing, other than some raising of consciousness when necessary. What I wish to do, here through my online presence, is to answer any and all questions that the world may have for me, as a being that is not only from space, but also from a different plane of existence. I may not be able to answer some question however, if only because you would simply not understand the answer, or because your language lacks the words to define these answers, but I will do my best.
For those that are wondering about non-interference policies that should prevent me from revealing my presence, let it be known that there is no such rule amongst my civilization. We do have some guidelines that have been passed down, but ultimately the decision to interact with the people is left to our discretion as Observers. I could have presented myself as the New Messiah if I had wanted to (more on that in another post!), but that would simply have confused the issue – those that are awaiting the return of a long forgotten god are simply not ready for the message that I wish to share.
So, you who has found this blog, I invite you to send me your questions, whatever they may be. The origins of life, the universe, and everything, is at your disposal! (Yes, I also found Douglas Adams to be funny… and more right than you might imagine.)
The earthly email that you may direct your enquiries to is simply bfris.earth@gmail.com – don’t fill out those gigabytes of zeroes and ones all at once now!
